With this package, we embark on an adventure in the most peaceful Asian country where one wouldn't think such wilderness exists. The tour starts by taking you on a city tour of Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city, followed by a visit to a number of enchanting fortresses known as Dzong in Bhutan.
ProVacation also gives you an opportunity to experience a luxury camp in the city in the background of the majestic mountains. Apart from the adventure, you will also learn from the experts the national sport of Bhutan, Archery, and get a chance to know more about a long-preserved and lesser known culture. Along the way you will also get acquainted with the national animal of Bhutan, the takin, at the Takin Zoo. Conclude the tour by learning a thing or two about the Bhutanese way of life at the National Folk Heritage Museum before taking on a beautiful trek to Dochula Pass to witness the many grand peaks of the Eastern Himalayas.

- You arrive by flight to Paro after a picture-perfect journey exposing the peaks of eastern Himalayas. On arrival, our representative will be waiting at the airport to take you and your family to the first spot of the tour. While Paro is the city of arrival, Thimpu is the capital city of Bhutan and also our first destination.
- After a two- hour drive through the mesmerizing Himalayan landscapes, we arrive in Thimpu. Upon arrival, we proceed to check-in at the hotel and depending on the time, settle down to either relax till evening or leave for sightseeing immediately after some refreshments.
- Visit local weekend market which runs from Thursday to Sunday and experience Bhutanese culture by getting acquainted with local vegetable vendors who come from different parts of the country.
- After a short walk through the market, transfer back to hotel.
- Dinner and overnight in Thimphu
- After breakfast, we set out to see the marvels of the capital city which includes a visit to the Traditional Painting School of Arts and Crafts where you can interact with children practicing 13 different types of centuries old crafts.
- It is followed by a tour to the traditional medicine center where old medicinal herbs and acupuncture still remain unchallenged.
- Shortly after, we head to the National Folk Heritage Museum and Textile Museum to learn Bhutan’s rich heritage.
- Second half includes a trip to the National Library of Bhutan wherein you will find a host of timeless Buddhist manuscripts.
- We then drive to the Buddha Point, Changangkha temple, the oldest temple in the valley. The temple of Chenrigzig is known as Buddha of Compassion and you will get an opportunity to offer butter lamps here.
- The last stop for the day includes a memorable trip to the Takin Zoo. The zoo is famous for housing the national animal of the country, the Takin, and is found only in Bhutan.
- Dinner and overnight in Thimphu.
- After breakfast, drive to Punakha (70Km) via the Dochula pass (3140 m) to capture different peaks of the Eastern Himalayas. Some of the peaks seen on a clear day are:
- Masang Gang 7165 m
- Tsenda Gang 7100 m
- Teri Gang 7300 m
- Jejekangphu Gang 7100 m
- Gangkhar Puensum 7541 m (Highest mt in Bhutan)
- Soon after the short photography break, we leave on foot to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten to marvel at the temple built by the Queen of Bhutan in a bid to symbolize peace and stability in this fast-paced world.
- Transfer back to luxury camp. Dinner and overnight in camp.
- After a luxurious night stay camp in Thimphu, day four awaits an exciting activity. After breakfast, we drive halfway to Khasum Yurley Chorten and the other half will be covered on foot. This includes a mild hike. Our representative will be equipped with hiking essentials, but at the same time it is better to carry your own water bottle to avoid shortage. We visit the impressive Punakha Dzong on the way.
- Second half of the day post lunch is to indulge in the national sport of Bhutan, archery. Take archery lessons from experts and learn the cultural importance of the sport through this fun activity. Khuru (dart) rafting can be availed too, but on request.
- We transfer back to our camp for dinner. Overnight in luxury camp.
- After breakfast at the campsite, we leave for Phobjikha valley via Gangtey Goempa. Here we embark on another hiking adventure through a lush nature trail. On completion of the hike we drive north of the valley to have a hands on experience with the locals of Bhutan. Here we visit Gogona Lhakhang where we interact with villagers and visit their homes and farms.
- Drive back to the camp for an overnight stay.
- After breakfast, we leave behind a beautiful camp stay in Thimphu and trace our journey back to Gangtey Valley to enjoy a spectacular view of the migratory black-necked cranes. They arrive in Bhutan during winters from remote China and Siberia. We also visit the bird information centre to understand more about the nature of birds found here in Bhutan.
- After a splendid afternoon, we drive to Drochu la pass where we spend a night to capture the breathtaking view of the Himalayan sunrise early the following day.
- Dinner and overnight in Drochu la.
- After capturing the beauty of sunrise in the world's happiest country, we retrace our journey back to Paro.
- On our way back, we will visit a 17th century watchtower for the Paro Dzong which was converted into the national museum in 1967 is filled with antique thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons and armor.
- Then we drive to see the Rinpung Dzong which was built in 1645 to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders. The Dzong is now used as an administration center and school for monks.
- Second half if kept free for your leisure and you can choose to either spend time in the neighbourhood trotting down the streets or drive around in Paro. Dinner and overnight in Paro.
- After a week of adventurous yet serene camping and hiking in Bhutan amidst the magnificent Himalayas, it's time for our representative to drop you back at Paro airport in time for your outbound flight back home. Hope you have a safe flight and remember the tour and us with fond memories.
